Farmers tan

Monday I spent most of the day outside doing yard work and washing the camper. As a result I acquired a very nice farmers tan. You’ve all seen or had one yourself in the past. The tan line starts just above the elbow going down the arm with everything above the line white as the driven snow. It’s usually in tandem with a sunburn to the back of the neck, with the size and severity dictated by how much the collar of your shirt is stretched. Following that order is the tan across the forehead due to the hat you were wearing while out in the sun. I managed to achieve all three…

Needless to say I got a lot of looks when I came into work Monday evening. Mostly because of the pronounced forehead line. Now, two days on, the forehead line has disappiated somewhat. The arms and back of the neck have grown redder and have somehow become like heating pads. The worst part is when an itch occurs on the back of the neck and is scratched without thinking. OUCH!

That’s what you get for keeping vampire hours I suppose. At least I didn’t explode or turn into dust. BTW the yard looks good and the camper is cleaner now than when we bought it. I guess the payoff was worth it.

As always…I must be off.
