You have to love the era we live in. To be able to catch a couple of minutes of realtime communication with the Lad considering where he is.

I think about him often and he is in our prayers.

I can hear that song playing in my head.... I been thru the desert on a horse with no name...

I agree, ignorant people in this country protesting against things they know nothing about. It's like the Torch and Pitch Fork Mobs, just follow the mob!!!

Granted this was a tragic event but also very rare. Horses are bred to be whipped. I mean it's not abuse, just something they are used to. Just like a stop light on green means go, whip it means go to them! There are much more pressing issues to protest about in this day and age.

That was terrible what happened. Always hate to see such beautiful animals put down. I do however disagree how everyone is scrutinizing the horse racing industry. When a basketball player falls dead on the court do they question the sport? I just think they need to stop running Fillies in the Derby. Their bones are not as strong and are run hard against a field of formidable opponents.

Like you said, if there was foul play that lead to this then full prosecution should be taken but the sport shouldn't be driven into the ground. People just take the worst when something like this happens then the media gets into it.

I tell you what pissed me off, all local news stations except LEX18 showed the horses breakdown. Why the hell did they need to show that? We all know what happened! It just feeds fuel to the fire and is totally unprofessional.

Oil companies can kiss my arse, disappointed? Boo hoo.

I agree about drilling in our own country. That's really the only way to, like you said, put pressure on the oil producing nations. I don't want gas free but a reasonable price wouldn't hurt. And please don't get me started on nationalized healthcare...

We must drill for the oil in our own back yard to put pressure on the oil producing nations!

But wait, NIMBY. We all want to drive for free. Just like we want our Dr.s visit to be free.

Am I off here?

Glad to hear Bob is doing well. I think about him quite often. It's people like him that make this country great. Me and my minuscule job over here, making money for someone else. I guess everyone has there place in this world, right? You'll have to keep us updated with the new baby coming.

Something has to give at some point. We are now feeling the affects of what the Europeans have been feeling the past 5 years. It's hard to follow the political scene anymore, must be full time or you get lost. I know we need to get away from this Ethanol crap since it costs more to refine and produce. One thing we need to allow is searching and drilling of oil here in America. They have found some spots but the EPA is blocking us from drilling. One thing that gets me is diesel costs less to refine that gas. How do you explain the cost now? Makes you wonder...
